To mark the centenary of the "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" (MOF) competition, 2 major events will leave a lasting mark on the history of the MOFs:
- Lyon will host the national finals of the "Un des Meilleurs Apprentis de France" (MAF) competition.
- Lyon will also be the venue for the 69th MOF Congress, which will welcome the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (Best Craftsmen in France) from all over France to celebrate the centenary of the MOF competition.
During the finals of the MAF competition, we want to provide an immersive and lively setting for presenting the 120 trades to the general public, and particularly to schoolchildren, using a variety of media:
- Exhibition of the regional gold medal-winning pieces from the MAF 2024 competition
- Demonstrations of the trades by several hands (MOF/MAF) spread over 10 trade hubs, covering all 120 trades in the MAF competition
- Lively, fun workshops for schoolchildren and young people
- Competition finals open to the public at three venues (Cité internationale for 80 trades, Hippodrome de Parilly for the horse trades, Parc de la Tête d'Or for the landscaping trades).
- Handover trophies will also be awarded on the evening of the Centenary and Handover Gala to honour MOF/MAF pairs who have made a particular effort to safeguard, promote and hand down skills, trades and know-how.
Finally, on Sunday 9 June, the Patrouille de France is scheduled to take part in a flypast (they are MOF Honoris Causa).
